Why am I unable to trade?
Why am I unable to trade in My Account?
Recently two major Regulatory changes were implemented that may have affected your ability to trade in your account.
A. PAN Aadhaar Linking
1. From 01st July 2023, any PAN that is not linked with Aadhaar is considered invalid.
2. Post cutoff date, KYC Repository Agency (KRA) has changed your KYC status to "HOLD", following which Exchanges have removed Trading Permission for such trade codes, and your demat accounts have been suspended by the Depository
B. Mandatory KYC validation for clients who submitted Aadhaar as Proof of Address
1. From 2 nd September 2023, for clients who have provided Aadhaar as proof, Exchange will give permission to Trade only if the KRA status is "Validated".
2. KRAs provide the KYC status of clients directly to Exchange and only "validated clients" will be permitted to trade by Exchange
3. Non-complied demat accounts have been suspended by the respective Depository.
4. If your KRA is not in Validated status, each KRA has given a link to verify your email id and mobile number via OTP
5. KRA does not change status to "Validated" immediately after you verify your email and mobile. This may take several days.
6. Once your KRA status changes to Validated, then Exchange will give permission to trade within a day or two, and Geojit will activate your demat account.

Why is there a delay in activating my account?
1. There is a sudden surge in activation requests or KYC regularization requests as many clients haven't taken required actions before applicable cutoff dates.
2. Delay in updation of KYC status by your KYC Repository Agency (KRA)
